Section 16-52-4.1 Board of Trustees - Participation in meetings by electronic communications. Members of the Board of Trustees of Jacksonville State University may participate in a meeting of the board or committee by means of telephone conference, video conference, or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting may hear each other at the same time. Participation by such means shall constitute presence in person at a meeting for all purposes. However, a majority of a quorum of the members of the board of trustees, or, in the event of a meeting of only the executive committee, a majority of a quorum of the executive committee of the board of trustees must be physically present at the location noticed and called for the meeting in order to conduct any business or deliberation. Section 34-21-129 Effective date; withdrawal or termination; amendments. (a) This compact shall become effective and binding on the earlier of the date of legislative enactment of this compact into law by not less than 26 states or December 31, 2019. All party states that also participated in the prior Nurse Licensure Compact, which is superseded by this compact, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Nurse Licensure Compact on the first day of the sixth month after the effective date of this compact.
