Section 35-5A-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ADULT. An individual who has attained the age of 21 years. (2) BENEFIT PLAN. An employer's plan for the benefit of an employee or partner, or an individual retirement account. (3) BROKER. A person lawfully engaged in the business of effecting transactions in securities or commodities for the person's own account or for the account of others. (4) CONSERVATOR. A person appointed or qualified by a court to act as general, limited, or temporary guardian of a minor's property or a person legally authorized to perform substantially the same functions. Section 5-12A-6 Control of investments by instrument under which trust institution acts. Section 43-2-842 Persons dealing with personal representative; protection. A person who, in good faith, either assists a personal representative or deals with the personal representative for value is protected as if the personal representative properly exercised the power. The fact that a person knowingly deals with a personal representative does not alone require the person to inquire into the existence of a power or the propriety of its exercise. Section 35-9-60 Lien declared. The landlord of any storehouse or other building shall have a lien on the goods, furniture, and effects belonging to the tenant, and subtenant, for rent, which shall be superior to all other liens, except those for taxes, and except as otherwise provided in Section 7-9A-333. In case the tenant or subtenant is adjudged a bankrupt, such lien on such goods, furniture, and effects of the bankrupt shall, as against the trustee in bankruptcy, attach only for unpaid rent accrued and which shall accrue within six months from the date of adjudication computed pro rata at the then current rate.
