Section 12-23A-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings: (1) ADVISORY COMMITTEE. A local committee which may consist of the following members or their designees: a. The drug court judge, who shall serve as chair. b. The district attorney. c. The public defender or a member of the criminal defense bar. d. The drug court coordinator. e. The court clerk. f. A community corrections or court referral officer, or both. g. A pretrial services provider. h. A law enforcement officer. i. Substance abuse treatment providers. j. Any other person the chair deems appropriate. (2) ASSESSMENT. A diagnostic evaluation for placement in a treatment program which shall be performed in accordance with criteria certified by the Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse Services Division. (3) CHARGE. As defined in Section 12-25-32(13). (4) CONTINUUM OF CARE. A seamless and coordinated course of substance abuse education and treatment designed to meet...

Section 16-1-24.3 Local boards of education to implement policies requiring expulsion of students who possess firearms in school areas. (a) All city and county boards of education shall develop and implement local policies and procedures requiring the expulsion of students, for a period of one year, who are determined to have brought to school or have in their possession a firearm in a school building, on school grounds, on school buses, or at other school-sponsored functions. Notwithstanding the foregoing, city and county boards of education and the local superintendent of education of each board may modify the expulsion requirement for a student on a case-by-case basis. Section 16-6F-4 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) APPLICANT. Any group with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or that has submitted an application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status that develops and submits an application for a public charter school to an authorizer. (2) APPLICATION. A proposal from an applicant to an authorizer to enter into a charter contract whereby the proposed school obtains public charter school status. (3) AT-RISK STUDENT.
