Section 16-25-19 Administration. (a) The general administration and responsibility for the
proper operation of the retirement system and for making effective the provisions of this
chapter are hereby vested in a board of trustees which shall be known as the Board of Control
and shall be organized immediately after a majority of the trustees provided for in this section
shall have qualified and taken the oath of office. (b) The board shall consist of 15 trustees
as follows: (1) The State Superintendent of Education, ex officio. (2) The State Treasurer,

Section 25-4-78 Disqualifications for benefits. An individual shall be disqualified for total
or partial unemployment for any of the following: (1) LABOR DISPUTE IN PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT.
For any week in which an individual's total or partial unemployment is directly due to a labor
dispute still in active progress in the establishment in which he or she is or was last employed.
For the purposes of this section only, the term labor dispute includes any controversy concerning
terms, tenure, or conditions of employment, or concerning the association or representation
of persons in negotiating, fixing, maintaining, changing, or seeking to arrange terms or conditions
of employment, regardless of whether the disputants stand in the proximate relation of employer

Section 34-14C-6 Denial, suspension, or revocation of license; hearing; notice, penalties;

Section 32-9A-4 Penalties. (a) Any person violating Section 32-9A-2(a)(1) shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor and punished by a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25) nor more than
two thousand dollars ($2,000) for each offense. In addition, the court may impose a sentence
of imprisonment in the county jail, not to exceed 30 days, for each offense. (b) Any person

Section 14-4-4 Report of hard labor sentence to probate judge. (a) All judicial officers shall,
immediately upon the sentence of any person to hard labor for any county, report in writing
to the judge of probate of the county for which such sentence is made, the name of such person,
the length of his sentence, the date of its commencement and the amount of costs. Any judicial
officer presiding over a court that has a clerk may order such report to be made by such clerk.
(b) Any judicial officer or clerk who fails to report in writing to the judge of probate,
as required by law, the name of any person sentenced to hard labor for the county, length

Section 13A-5-39 Definitions. As used in this article, these terms shall be defined as follows:
(1) CAPITAL OFFENSE. An offense for which a defendant shall be punished by a sentence of death
or life imprisonment without parole, or in the case of a defendant who establishes that he
or she was under the age of 18 years at the time of the capital offense, life imprisonment,
