Section 22-32-1 Enactment of Southeast Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management Compact. The Southeast Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management Compact is hereby enacted into law and entered into by the State of Alabama with any and all states legally joining therein in accordance with its terms, in the form substantially as follows: SOUTHEAST INTERSTATE LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPACT Article I. Policy and Purpose There is hereby created the Southeast Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management Compact. The party states recognize and declare that each state is responsible for providing for the availability of capacity either within or outside the state for the disposal of low-level radioactive waste generated within its borders, except for waste generated as a result of defense activities of the federal government or federal research and development activities. Section 22-8A-3 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ADULT. Section 45-8A-71.13 Employees, officers, or officials removed, discharged, or demoted; proceedings; appeals. (a) The governing body of the city may remove, discharge, or demote any employee, officer, or official of the city who is subject to this part and who is directly under the governing body, provided that within five working days a report in writing of the action is made to the board, giving the reason for the removal, discharge, or demotion. (a) At any time after three years after the organization of a district under the provisions of this article, any 25 owners of land lying within the boundaries of such district may file a petition with the State Soil and Water Conservation Committee praying that the operations of the district be terminated and the existence of the district discontinued.
