Section 45-45-82 Child protection board and fund. (a) In order to provide for the protection and welfare of children in Madison County who are alleged to be or have been found by the juvenile court of the county to be abused or neglected or otherwise dependent as defined by Section 12-15-102, there is levied and imposed a court cost of four dollars ($4), in all cases filed in the district court of the county, which shall be in addition to all other costs previously imposed. The clerk of the court shall collect the costs and remit them to a fund to be designated as the Child Protection Fund in the county treasury. (b)(1)a. There is established a board to be known as the Child Protection Board of Madison County. The board shall consist of seven members. Section 30-3C-9 Hearing on petition to prevent abduction. (a) If a petition is filed under this chapter, the court may set a preliminary hearing as necessary, and shall cause to be issued all summonses and notices as required by law and otherwise deemed necessary and appropriate. She began a crusade her senior year of high school in 2004 to end the silence and shame around sexual abuse. Erin's Law has been adopted in a number of states to help address the problem of child sexual abuse. (2) The intent of Erin's Law is to shatter the silence and stigma around child sexual abuse, and to educate children and empower them to recognize and to report abuse. (a) A nonrefundable fee to be paid for the criminal history background information check shall conform to the guidelines promulgated pursuant to 42 U.S.C. ยง 5119, the National Child Protection Act of 1993, and state law.
