Section 26-17-636 Order adjudicating parentage; limitation on liability for education and support; cost, fees, and expenses. (a) The court shall issue an order adjudicating whether a man alleged or claiming to be the father is the parent of the child. (b) An order adjudicating parentage must identify the child by name and date of birth, if known. (c) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (d), the court may assess filing fees, reasonable attorney's fees, fees for genetic testing, other costs, and necessary travel and other reasonable expenses incurred in a proceeding under this article, subject to the following rules: (1) Parties to proceedings under this chapter should pay the fees and expenses of retained counsel, expert witnesses, guardians ad litem, the costs of appropriate tests and other costs of the trial as they may, themselves, incur. Section 13A-13-8 Failure to report missing child. (a) This section shall be known and may be cited as Caylee's Law. (b) For purposes of this section, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) ABDUCTION. The removal or retention of a child without the consent of the child's custodian. (2) CHILD. A person who is less than 18 years of age. (3) CUSTODIAN. Section 26-17-102 Definitions. In this chapter: (1) "Acknowledged father" means a man who has established a father-child relationship under Article 3. (2) "Adjudicated father" means a man who has been adjudicated by a court of competent jurisdiction to be the father of a child. Section 26-10A-8 Consent or relinquishment by a minor parent. (a) Prior to a minor parent giving consent a guardian ad litem must be appointed to represent the interests of a minor parent whose consent is required. Any minor, 14 years of age and beyond, can nominate a guardian ad litem either prior to the birth of the baby or thereafter. (a) No person, organization, group, agency, or any legal entity may accept any fee whatsoever for bringing the adopting parent or parents together with the adoptee or the natural parents. A violation of this section shall be punished under Section 26-10A-33. (b) Prior to payment, the petitioners must file with the court a full accounting of all charges for expenses, fees, or services they or persons acting on their behalf will be paying relating to the adoption.
