Section 25-9-192 Maintenance of supply of timbers or other roof supports. (a) The operator
of each mine shall keep on hand at the mine a sufficient supply of timbers of suitable length
and cap pieces to be used as required in timbering underground workings. Timbers and cap pieces
in required quantities and lengths as ordered shall be delivered to the working places designated
or in cars to the point at which cars are accepted by the miners. In hand loading mines, the
miner shall order timbers and cap pieces at least one day in advance in order to have in his
working place a sufficient supply for his needs. He shall place his order with the mine foreman
or subordinate supervisor, stating the number and length of timbers needed. In mechanical
mining, the mine foreman shall set up a systematic procedure for ordering and supplying of
timbers and cap pieces. When timbers are needed in any working place and are not available,

Section 33-2-8 General provisions relative to inland waterways improvement bonds and temporary
loans. In order to provide funds for the purposes herein authorized, the Governor is hereby
empowered to execute, with the concurrence of the director of state docks, and to sell the
state's bonds in such amounts, not exceeding in the aggregate the sum of $3,000,000.00 as
may be necessary for said purposes, all under and subject to the following provisions: Said
bonds shall be appropriately designated as inland waterways improvement bonds of the state.
The bonds may be issued from time to time in one or more series and the bonds of each series
shall be payable in substantially equal annual installments of principal and interest at such

to this article to conduct surface mining operations shall require that such surface coal
mining operations will meet all applicable performance standards of this article, and such
