Section 41-7A-3 Purchase of prior service credit for time in Employees' Retirement System.
If the director or a classified employee of the Alabama Film Office has previously served
as an independent contractor of the Alabama Film Office, and desires to purchase prior service
credit for time in the Employees' Retirement System after becoming an active and contributing
member of the retirement system under this chapter, he or she shall pay to the Secretary-Treasurer
of the Retirement System in a lump sum within five years from August 9, 1995, the full cost
of the employer and employee contributions necessary to purchase the prior service credit
as determined by the actuary for the retirement system based on the current compensation or

Section 36-21-3 Lump-sum payments for service of state, etc., law enforcement officers, etc.
(a) Each law enforcement officer and all police communications officers employed by the State
of Alabama, including law enforcement officers of the Department of Industrial Relations and
the Department of Revenue, and including State Fire Marshals, shall be entitled to and receive
in a lump sum the first pay period of December each year the sum of $300.00 per annum after

Section 45-49A-81.11 Pension eligibility for certain employees - 25 years of service. (a) Any
employee of the City of Prichard who has been in the service thereof for as long as 25 years,
the last four years of which, counting a major fraction of a year as a full year, have been
continuous, upon making written application to the City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama,
therefor, shall, without medical examination or disability be retired from service of the
City of Prichard and upon such retirement the council shall direct the payment to the retiring
employee monthly from such fund, a sum equal to 55 percent of the monthly compensation received
by such employee as salary or other compensation at the time of his or her retirement, or

Section 27-27-49.1 Recovery. (a) If an order for liquidation or rehabilitation of a domestic
insurer has been entered, the receiver appointed under such order shall have a right to recover
on behalf of the insurer, (i) from any parent corporation or holding company or person or

Section 36-21-189 Retirement annuity. (a) Any member, at any time after reaching the age of
62 and completion of at least 25 years' qualified service, shall be entitled to an annuity
benefit. (b) The amount of the monthly benefit shall be determined by the board in an amount
recommended by the actuary for the fund. The benefit shall begin upon approval by the board
on the date of the member's application for the benefits on forms provided by the board, but
in no event shall the benefit begin prior to his or her termination of service as a firefighter.
