Section 25-11-3 Definitions. When used in this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings: (1) CLAIM INFORMATION. Data related to whether an individual is receiving, has received, or has made application for unemployment compensation, the amount of such compensation being received or to be received by the individual, and the individual's current or most recent home address. (2) COMMISSIONER. The Commissioner of the State of Alabama, Department of Human Resources. (3) CUSTODIAN OF RECORDS. The person within the Department of Labor authorized to maintain the data collected under this chapter, including, but not limited to, all employment hiring data entered into the State Directory of New Hires, wage information, and unemployment claim and compensation information. Section 26-16-70 Membership; eligibility. (a) For purposes of this section, the following terms have the following meanings: (1) FORENSIC INTERVIEW. The same meaning as in Section 12-15-301. Section 41-15B-2.2 Allocation of trust fund revenues. Section 45-2-234.09 Appeals; subpoenas; hearing. (a) A classified employee, other than an appointed official, shall have the right to appeal any disciplinary action taken against him or her. An employee on probationary status shall not have that right unless the employee had permanent status in some other position at the time of appointment to the probationary position. Section 8-19-10 Private right of action. (a) Any person who commits one or more of the acts or practices declared unlawful under this chapter and thereby causes monetary damage to a consumer, and any person who commits one or more of the acts or practices declared unlawful in subdivisions (19) and (20) of Section 8-19-5 and thereby causes monetary damage to another person, shall be liable to each consumer or other person for: (1) Any actual damages sustained by such consumer or person, or the sum of $100, whichever is greater; or (2) Up to three times any actual damages, in the court's discretion. (a) Each authority shall have a board of directors composed of the number of directors provided in the certificate of incorporation, as most recently amended.
