Section 6-5-680 Definitions. For the purposes of this article, the following words shall have the following meanings: (1) ASBESTOS CLAIM. Any claim, wherever or whenever made, for damages, losses, indemnification, contribution, or other relief arising out of, based on, or in any way related to asbestos, including: a. The health effects of exposure to asbestos, including any claim for: 1. Personal injury or death. 2. Mental or emotional injury. 3. Risk of disease or other injury. 4. The costs of medical monitoring or surveillance, to the extent these claims are recognized under state law. b. Any claim made by or on behalf of a person exposed to asbestos, or a representative, spouse, parent, child, or other relative of the person. c. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if an employee voluntarily entered the program, follow-up testing shall not be required. Section 25-4-51 Rates of contributions, etc., by employers. (a) Contributions. Except as hereinafter provided and subject to the provisions of Section 25-4-54, every employer shall pay contributions, or payments in lieu of contributions, equal to the percentages of wages payable or paid as hereinafter set out, with respect to employment by him. Section 25-5-57 Compensation for disability. (a) Compensation schedule. Following is the schedule of compensation: (1) TEMPORARY TOTAL DISABILITY. For injury producing temporary total disability, the compensation shall be 66 2/3 percent of the average weekly earnings received at the time of injury, subject to a maximum and minimum weekly compensation as stated in Section 25-5-68, but if at the time of injury the employee received average weekly earnings of less than the minimum stated in Section 25-5-68, then he or she shall receive the full amount of the average weekly earnings per week. This compensation shall be paid during the time of the disability, but at the time as a temporary total disability shall become permanent, compensation for the continued total disability shall be governed by (a)(4) of this section with respect to permanent total disability.
