Section 16-23-16.1 Creation of Professional Teachers Standards Commission; designation or development
of entry-level pre-certification examination for teacher candidates. (a) The Legislature finds
that Alabama is alone among the southern states in not testing teacher candidates before allowing
them in the classroom, and acknowledges that the need exists to establish, maintain, and enforce
minimum professional standards for teacher candidates in the State of Alabama. In response
to such need, there is hereby created a Professional Teachers Standards Commission (the commission)
for the State of Alabama. The commission shall consist of 11 members appointed by the Governor
in the following manner: The Alabama Congress of Parents and Teachers Association, Alabama
School Board Association, Alabama Council for School Administration and Supervision, Alabama

Section 11-65-5 Composition of commission; terms; qualifications; removal from office. (a)
Every commission shall have five members, which shall constitute its governing body. All powers
of a commission shall be exercised by its members or pursuant to their authorization. The
mayor or other chief executive officer of the sponsoring municipality and the president or
other designated presiding officer of the county commission of the host county shall each
serve as a member ex officio, unless such official exercises his or her right, as provided

Section 2-17-1 Definitions. When used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following
meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) COMMISSIONER.

Section 36-14-15 Photographic reproduction of records, etc.; legal effect of such reproductions.
(a) The Secretary of State may cause any record, document, plat, file, book, map, paper or
other writing made, acquired or received as required by law to be photographed or microphotographed
on plate or film. Such photographs, microfilms or prints made therefrom, when duly authenticated
by the Secretary of State, shall have the same force and effect at law as the original record
or of a record made by any other legally authorized means and may be offered in like manner

Section 25-5-2 Powers and duties of Secretary of Labor with respect to administration of chapter

Section 45-37-123.23 Records and reports. (a) Records. The pension board shall keep a record
of all of its proceedings, which shall be open to public inspection. Additionally, the pension
board shall keep all other books of account, records, policies, compensation records, service
records, and other data that may be necessary for proper administration of the plan and shall
be responsible for supplying all information and reports to the Internal Revenue Service,
members, beneficiaries, and others as may be required by law. (b) Correction of records. (1)
The pension board shall correct any error in a member's service record which the pension board
concludes is necessary to correct or remove an injustice or prevent a member from receiving

Section 25-4-113 Employees; immunity from civil suit; exception. The secretary shall, with
the approval of the Governor, determine the number of employees needed for the efficient and
economical performance of the functions and duties of administering this chapter. All positions
