Section 16-22-17 Payroll deductions for participation in statewide programs. (a) When used in this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings, respectively: (1) EMPLOYEE. Any person employed full-time as provided by law by those employers enumerated in this section and adult bus drivers. (2) EMPLOYER. Section 25-5-81 Determination of disputed compensation claims generally. (a) Commencement of action in circuit court. (1) PROCEDURE. In case of a dispute between employer and employee or between the dependents of a deceased employee and the employer with respect to the right to compensation under this article and Article 2 of this chapter, or the amount thereof, either party may submit the controversy to the circuit court of the county which would have jurisdiction of a civil action in tort between the parties. Section 34-26-42 Penalty for unlicensed person held out to public as psychologist or psychological technician. (a) If any person holds himself or herself out to the public as being engaged in practice as a psychologist or psychological technician, such as clinical, counseling, school, or combined professional-scientific psychology, and does not then possess in full force and virtue a valid license to practice as a psychologist or psychological technician under this chapter, he or she shall be deemed guilty of a Class B misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not less than five hundred dollars ($500) per occurrence nor more than five thousand dollars ($5,000) per occurrence plus court costs.
