Section 24-3-5 Assistance of urban renewal projects by municipalities, etc.; delegation of powers, etc., of authority to municipalities, etc. Any municipality or other public body is hereby authorized, without limiting any provision in Section 24-3-4, to do any and all things necessary to aid and cooperate in the planning and undertaking of an urban renewal project in the area in which such municipality or public body is authorized to act, including the furnishing of such financial and other assistance as the municipality or public body is authorized by Chapter 2 of this title to furnish for or in connection with a redevelopment plan or redevelopment project. (a) In addition to its authority under this title, any housing authority created under this title is hereby authorized to plan and undertake urban renewal projects.
