Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a) As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. Any natural person, partnership, company, firm, corporation, association, limited liability company, cooperative, or other legal entity licensed by the Alabama State Licensing Board for General Contractors. Section 23-1-48 Application by counties for construction or maintenance of state road or bridge. Whenever a county commission shall desire that a state road or bridge on a state road in said county be constructed or maintained with state aid, written application shall be made by the county to the State Department of Transportation under such rules and regulations as the department may prescribe.
