Section 27-9A-17 Fingerprints. (a) In order to make a determination of license eligibility, the commissioner may require fingerprints of applicants and to submit the fingerprints and the fee required to perform the criminal history record checks to the Alabama Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for state and national criminal history record checks. (b) The commissioner may require a criminal history record check on each applicant in accordance with this section. The commissioner shall require each applicant to submit a full set of fingerprints, including a scanned file from a hard copy fingerprint, in order for the commissioner to obtain and receive national criminal history records from the Criminal Justice Information Services Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Section 19-1A-16 (Effective January 1, 2018) Custodian compliance and immunity. (a) Not later than 60 days after receipt of the information required under Sections 19-1A-7 to 19-1A-15, inclusive, a custodian shall comply with a request under this chapter from a fiduciary or designated recipient to disclose digital assets or terminate an account. Section 27-15-53 Requirements for death master file comparisons. (a) An insurer shall perform a comparison of its insureds' in-force life insurance policies, annuity contracts, and retained asset accounts against a death master file, to identify potential death master file matches of its insureds. Such comparison shall be completed by January 1, 2019. Thereafter, an insurer shall maintain a program designed to compare each such policy, contract, or account with a death master file no less frequently than every three years, it being the intent that insurers fashion a program that best fits their business systems while at the same time protecting consumers by assuring reasonable checks are being performed to identify unreported deaths.
