Section 26-22-2 Definitions. The following words shall have the following meanings: (1) ABORTION. The use of any means to terminate the clinically diagnosable pregnancy of a woman with knowledge that the termination by those means will, with reasonable likelihood, cause the death of the unborn child. (2) FERTILIZATION. The fusion of a human spermatozoon with a human ovum. (3) GESTATIONAL AGE. The age of the unborn child as calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period of the pregnant woman. (4) HOSPITAL. An institution licensed pursuant to the provisions of the law of this state. (5) LIVE BIRTH. When used with regard to a human being, means that the human being was completely expelled or extracted from his or her mother and after such separation, breathed or showed evidence of any of the following: Beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, definite movement of voluntary muscles, or any brain-wave activity. Section 28-11-9 Suspension or revocation of permit; hearing commission; fines. (a) Subject to the Alabama Administrative Procedure Act, Chapter 22 of Title 41, the board shall have full and final authority as to the suspension or revocation for cause of any permit issued pursuant to this chapter. (1) The board may appoint a hearing commission of at least three persons which may do all of the following: a. Hear and decide all contested applications for permits. b. Hear and decide all charges against any permit holder or employee of a permit holder for violations of this chapter, the law, or the rules of the board. c. Section 32-6-49.13 Implied consent to take test of blood, breath, etc.; administration of test; refusal to take test; report of a law enforcement officer; sanctions; notice and hearing; review; notification of other states. (a) Commencing on May 21, 2009, any security officer, armed security officer, or contract security company providing private security services in this state shall apply to the board for a license or certification. (a) In accordance with Section 22-9A-21 and any rules adopted pursuant to that section: (1) The State Registrar and other custodians of vital records authorized by the State Registrar to issue certified copies shall upon receipt of an application issue a certified copy of vital records in his or her custody or a part of the record. Section 25-5-8 Employers' options to secure payment of compensation. (a) Option to insure risks.
