Section 6-5-520 Intent of Legislature; legislative findings; collateral source rule
modified. The Legislature finds that product liability litigation has increased substantially
and the cost of such litigation has risen in recent years. The Legislature further finds that
these increases have an impact upon the price and availability of products. It is the belief
of the Legislature that there are special reasons for modifying the collateral source rule
in this state as it applies to product liability actions. The Legislature finds that the recovery
by plaintiffs of medical and hospital expenses as damages where plaintiffs are reimbursed
for the same medical and hospital expenses from other sources contributes to the increase
in the cost of product liability litigation. It is the intent of the Legislature that plaintiffs
be compensated fully for any medical or hospital expenses incurred as a result of injuries

Section 9-15-52 Sale or leasing of sand or gravel on public water bottoms and certain
state lands - Negotiation, consummation and administration of contracts, leases, etc. All
contracts, leases, and agreements for the sale of sand and gravel from the lands of the state
which are not owned, occupied, or held in trust by or assigned or dedicated to any department,
agency, or institution and from the public water bottoms of the State of Alabama shall be
negotiated, consummated, and administered by the Commissioner of Conservation and Natural
Resources, acting through the Lands Division of the Department of Conservation and Natural
Resources, which division shall receive as the cost of administration 10 percent of all revenues
accruing from the sale of sand and gravel or royalties resulting from sand and gravel leases.

Section 9-2-20.1 Game and Fish Fund - Alabama Game and Fish Endowment Fund created as
special account; administration; restrictions; use of income. (a) There is hereby created
within the Game and Fish Fund a special account to be known as the Alabama Game and Fish Endowment
Fund. The assets of said fund shall consist of the following: (1) The proceeds from the sale

public assistance means money or property provided directly or indirectly to eligible persons

for sale, distributes or solicits orders for the sale of any agricultural, vegetable, herb,
