Section 41-9-1027 Alabama Athletic Commission - Rulemaking authority; drug testing. (a) The commission shall adopt rules governing professional boxing, professional bare knuckle boxing, tough man contests, amateur mixed martial arts, and professional mixed martial arts to establish the following: (1) Procedures to evaluate the professional records and physician certifications of each participant in a match, contest, or exhibition of professional boxing, professional bare knuckle boxing, tough man contests, amateur mixed martial arts, and professional mixed martial arts and to deny authorization for a professional boxer, professional bare knuckle boxer, tough man contestant, amateur mixed martial arts competitor, or professional mixed martial arts competitor to fight where appropriate. Recognized soil-testing practices are the most effective means by which fertilizer and lime needs of fields, pastures and gardens can be determined for the growth of certain crops, plants and grasses. (a) The books and records of publicly owned hospitals, nursing homes, rest homes or any other publicly owned medical institution may, upon request of the governing board of the particular institution, be audited annually by any certified public accountant who is subject to the control of the Alabama State board of Public Accountancy. Section 33-5-75 Authority of Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources to cancel certification or to suspend or revoke privilege of operating vessel; procedures.
