Section 45-5-141.20 Powers and duties; annual dues; board of trustees; referendum election. (a) This section shall apply only in Blount County. (b) A district for the delivery of fire and emergency medical services may be formed in any unincorporated area of the county pursuant to this section subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified electors who vote at a referendum election for that purpose in the proposed district and for the approval of the mandatory annual dues of the district. (c) In order to call for a referendum election for the formation of a district, a petition signed by not less than 20 percent of the registered voters who reside in the proposed district shall be presented to the county commission and the Judge of Probate of Blount County. The petition shall contain an accurate legal description of the proposed area and shall state the name of the proposed district. Section 9-14C-5 Meetings; functions; officers; advisory board. (a) The commission shall hold an annual meeting in Jefferson County. A majority of members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. (a) To facilitate the continuous maintenance of the computerized statewide voter registration list, each county board of registrars shall investigate written reports from a family member of an elector, the inspector of an election precinct, the judge of probate, the sheriff, and the clerk of the circuit court that an elector registered to vote in a precinct has died or become a nonresident of the precinct in which he or she is registered to vote. The contributions, interest, and penalties required to be paid under this chapter shall be a first and prior lien upon all property and rights to property, real or personal, of any employer subject to this chapter. (a) The party states hereby create and establish a joint public entity known as the Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators.
