Section 22-23B-1 Legislative findings. The Legislature hereby finds and declares that the following facts are true and correct: The 104th Congress of the United States of America has recently enacted into law amendments to Public Law 104-182 (the "federal act") commonly known as the "Safe Drinking Water Act;" Congress, in the federal act, has determined that the federal government is committed to maintaining and improving its partnership with the states in the administration and implementation of the federal act; Congress has, in the federal act, determined that the requirements of the federal act with respect to safe drinking water will impose new requirements that may exceed the financial and technical capacity of many public water systems; The federal act authorizes state revolving loan funds and authorizes the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to offer to enter into agreements with eligible states to make capitalization grants to further the health protection...

Section 27-1-17 Limitation periods for payment of claims; overdue claims; retroactive denials, adjustments, etc.; penalties. (a) Each insurer, health service corporation, and health benefit plan that issues or renews any policy of accident or health insurance providing benefits for medical or hospital expenses for its insured persons shall pay for services rendered by Alabama health care providers within 45 calendar days upon receipt of a clean written claim or 30 calendar days upon receipt of a clean electronic claim. Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a) As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. (a) The Legislature finds that the number of students attending the several school systems located in those areas of North Alabama that will be directly impacted by the 2005 BRAC and Subsequent BRAC Actions will collectively increase by an estimated 9,000 students. As a result, there will be a need for the construction of additional school facilities as well as the renovation of existing school facilities.
