Section 25-5-1 Definitions. Throughout this chapter, the following words and phrases as used
therein shall be considered to have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context
shall clearly indicate a different meaning in the connection used: (1) COMPENSATION. The money
benefits to be paid on account of injury or death, as provided in Articles 3 and 4. The recovery
which an employee may receive by action at law under Article 2 of this chapter is termed "recovery
of civil damages," as provided for in Sections 25-5-31 and 25-5-34. "Compensation"
does not include medical and surgical treatment and attention, medicine, medical and surgical
supplies, and crutches and apparatus furnished an employee on account of an injury. (2) CHILD
or CHILDREN. The terms include posthumous children and all other children entitled by law

Section 34-21-126 Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators. (a) The
party states hereby create and establish a joint public entity known as the Interstate Commission
of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators. (1) The commission is an instrumentality of the
party states. (2) Venue is proper, and judicial proceedings by or against the commission shall
be brought solely and exclusively, in a court of competent jurisdiction where the principal

Section 38-9-6 Protective placement or other protective services. (a) An interested person
may petition the court to order protective placement or other protective services for an adult
in need of protective services. No protective placement or other protective services may be
ordered unless there is a determination by the court that the person is unable to provide
for his or her own protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation, sexual abuse, or emotional
abuse. Upon a petition, setting forth the facts and name, age, sex, and residence of the person,
the court of the circuit in which the person resides shall appoint a day, not more than 30
