Section 22-21-5 Incorporation of public bodies created under chapter; powers of same. (a) Any public body heretofore or hereafter created and established by ordinance or resolution pursuant to this chapter may become a body corporate and politic under the name set forth in such ordinance or resolution by filing a certified copy of such ordinance or resolution with the Secretary of State, to be recorded in his office. The members of such public body shall constitute the members of the corporation until they are succeeded by other members as provided by said ordinance or resolution. Neither the members of the corporation nor its directors or officers shall be personally liable for the debts, torts or undertakings of the corporation. Section 22-27-3 Authority of local governing bodies as waste collections and disposal; household exemptions; state regulatory program. (a) Generally. (1) The county commission or municipal governing body may, and is hereby authorized to, make available to the general public collection and disposal facilities for solid wastes in a manner acceptable to the department. Section 11-3A-2 Powers for public welfare, health, and safety; authorization; scope.
