Section 11-49B-7 Powers of authority. The authority shall exercise, subject to this chapter, the following powers and duties necessary to the discharge of its powers and duties in corporate form: (1) To have succession by its corporate name for the duration of time, which may be perpetual, subject to the provisions of Section 11-49B-19 specified in its certificate of incorporation. No nonprofit corporation, organized under the laws of this state prior to May 4, 1982 to operate a dental service plan in the state or any of the counties thereof, the charter or certificate of incorporation of which has been approved or consented to by the insurance commissioner prior to May 4, 1982, shall be required to incorporate or reincorporate as provided herein.
