Section 45-48A-62 Increase to tax for public school purposes. (a) For the purposes of this section, the following words have the following meanings: (1) AMENDMENT 56. Section 40-14A-22 Levy and amount of tax. (a) Levy of tax. There is hereby levied an annual privilege tax on every corporation, limited liability entity, and disregarded entity doing business in Alabama, or organized, incorporated, qualified, or registered under the laws of Alabama. (a) If for any taxable year beginning in the recognition period an Alabama S corporation has a net recognized built-in gain, there is hereby imposed a tax (computed under subsection (b)) on the income of such corporation for such taxable year.
