Section 22-13A-5 Needs assessment; list of services and providers. (a) The department
shall conduct a needs assessment to identify any or all of the following: (1) Research being
conducted within the state. (2) Available technical assistance and educational materials and
programs nationwide. (3) The level of public and professional awareness about osteoporosis.
(4) The needs of osteoporosis patients, their families, and caregivers. (5) Needs of health
care providers, including physicians, nurses, managed care organizations, and other health
care providers. (6) The services available to the osteoporosis patient. (7) Existence of osteoporosis
treatment programs. (8) Existence of osteoporosis support groups. (9) Existence of rehabilitation
services. (10) The number and location of bone density testing equipment. (b) Based on the

Section 22-13A-4 Establishment and promotion of program; duties of officer; strategies
for raising public awareness and educating consumers and professionals. (a) The State Department
of Health, hereinafter referred to as "the department," shall establish, promote,
and maintain an osteoporosis prevention and treatment education program in order to raise
public awareness, educate consumers, educate and train health professionals, teachers, and

Section 22-12D-1 Office established; purposes. (a) The Office of Women's Health
is established within the Alabama Department of Public Health for the following purposes:

Section 12-23A-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following words shall have
the following meanings: (1) ADVISORY COMMITTEE. A local committee which may consist of the

Section 41-15B-2.2 Allocation of trust fund revenues. (a) For each fiscal year, beginning
October 1, 1999, contingent upon the Children First Trust Fund receiving tobacco revenues
and upon appropriation by the Legislature, an amount of up to and including two hundred twenty-five
thousand dollars ($225,000), or equivalent percentage of the total fund, shall be designated
