Section 9-18A-1 Enactment of Southern States Energy Compact. The Legislature hereby enacts, and the State of Alabama hereby enters into, the Southern States Energy Compact with any and all states legally joining therein in accordance with its terms, in the form substantially as follows: "SOUTHERN STATES ENERGY COMPACT "Article I. Policy and Purpose. "The party states recognize that the proper employment and conservation of energy and employment of energy-related facilities, materials, and products, within the context of a responsible regard for the environment, can assist substantially in the industrialization of the south and the development of a balanced economy for the region. Section 34-1A-5 Licenses - Issuance; fees; suspension or revocation; nonresident license; display; written service contracts; confidential information. (a) The board shall issue licenses authorized by this chapter to all qualified individuals in accordance with rules or regulations established by the board. (b)(1) Effective beginning January 1, 2014, the license fee for a two-year period as set by the board shall not exceed three hundred dollars ($300) for an individual and one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) for a business entity. Section 34-27-36 Disciplinary action - Generally. (a) The commission or its staff may on its own, or on the verified complaint in writing of any person, investigate the actions and records of a licensee. The commission may issue subpoenas and compel the testimony of witnesses and the production of records and documents during an investigation. If probable cause is found, a formal complaint shall be filed and the commission shall hold a hearing on the formal complaint.
