Section 22-11A-111 Definitions. For purposes of this article, the following terms shall have
the following meanings: (1) DEPARTMENT. The Alabama Department of Public Health. (2) BOARD.
The State Board of Health. (3) COUNCIL. The Health Care Data Advisory Council. (4) DATA. Patient
information submitted by health care facilities to the Department of Public Health necessary
to carry out the requirements of this article. The information required to be reported by
health care facilities to the department shall be based upon the Federal Centers for Disease
Control and Preventions National Healthcare Safety Network definitions of hospital-acquired
infections and the guidelines for reporting. (5) HEALTH CARE FACILITY. General, critical access,
and specialized hospitals licensed pursuant to Section 22-21-20. (6) HEALTH CARE FACILITY

Section 22-4-5 Adoption, revision, etc., of rules, regulations, standards, etc., by State Board
of Health; appeals therefrom; State Board of Health not to discriminate among branches of
healing arts in administration of funds. (a) The State Board of Health, with the advice and

Section 22-5C-3 Palliative Care Information and Education Program. (a) There is created a statewide
Palliative Care Information and Education Program in the State Health Department. The purpose
of the palliative care information and education program is to maximize the effectiveness
of palliative care initiatives in the state by ensuring that comprehensive and accurate information
and education about palliative care is available to the public, health care providers, and

Section 22-4-33 Health Care Information and Data Advisory Council. (a) There is established
the Health Care Information and Data Advisory Council to give advice and guidance to SHPDA
in adopting rules necessary to implement this article, to review and serve as consultants

Section 22-4B-4 Maximum loan amount - Repayment by working for department or Federally-funded
Community Health Center - Balance due and payable upon demand for failure to remain employed
or for withdrawal from school. Any recipient who is granted a loan by the board shall be granted
a loan in an amount authorized by the board, not to exceed $20,000.00, plus the employee's
