Section 34-19-12 State Board of Midwifery - Creation; expenses; composition; meetings;
liability of members; employees; collection of information. (a) There is created and established
a State Board of Midwifery to implement and administer this chapter. (b) The board shall pay
all of its expenses from its own funds and no expenses shall be borne by the State of Alabama
from the State General Fund. (c) The board shall consist of seven members appointed by the
Governor and subject to confirmation by the Senate, from a list of qualified individuals nominated
by the designated organization. Each list shall contain the names of at least two individuals
for each position to be filled. (d) The members of the board shall be appointed for staggered
initial terms and subsequent terms shall be for a minimum of four years or until his or her

Section 34-21-93.1 Signature authority for health care forms, etc. (a) When any law
or rule requires a signature, certification, stamp, verification, affidavit, or endorsement
by a physician, the document shall be deemed to authorize a signature, certification, stamp,
verification, affidavit, or endorsement by a certified registered nurse practitioner or certified
nurse midwife for the items listed in this section. The authority in this section

Section 16-22-13.1 Fiscal year 2000-2001 adjustments. (a) The state Budget Officer shall
allocate to the State Board of Education, the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Institute for
Deaf and Blind, the Board of Youth Services School District, the Board of Directors of the
Alabama School of Fine Arts, and the Board of Trustees of the Alabama School of Mathematics

Section 17-4-35 Supervisor of Voter Registration. The Supervisor of Voter Registration
shall be employed by the Secretary of State under the terms and conditions of the state Merit
System and the salary and benefits shall be set by the Secretary of State out of funds appropriated

Section 22-27-3 Authority of local governing bodies as waste collections and disposal;
household exemptions; state regulatory program. (a) Generally. (1) The county commission or
municipal governing body may, and is hereby authorized to, make available to the general public
collection and disposal facilities for solid wastes in a manner acceptable to the department.
