Section 22-1-15 Certification card for persons diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. (a) Upon the request of a person medically diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, or the guardian or caregiver of the person, the Alabama Department of Public Health shall issue a certification card denoting that the person has been medically diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The certification card and the person's driver's license may be presented to law enforcement as necessary. (b) The Alabama Department of Public Health shall establish by rule the proof required to be produced by a person medically diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder who requests a certification card under subsection (a).
