Section 41-5A-6 Chief examiner - Recovery audits for overpayments of state funds. (a) For the purposes of this section, the following words have the following meanings: (1) CHIEF EXAMINER. Section 16-6D-4 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ACADEMIC YEAR. (a) The Legislature of Alabama hereby finds and declares that the health, safety, and welfare of the people of Class 1 cities are enhanced by the continual encouragement, development, growth, and expansion of private enterprise within this state. That there are certain economically depressed areas in such cities that need particular attention to create new jobs, stimulate economic activity, and attract private sector investment rather than government subsidy to improve the quality of life of their citizens.
