Section 34-19-14 State Board of Midwifery - Powers and duties; scope of licensed practice
of midwifery. (a) The board shall do all of the following consistent with this chapter: (1)
Approve, renew, suspend, or revoke licenses for the practice of midwifery. (2) Investigate
and conduct hearings regarding complaints against a licensed midwife in order to determine
if disciplinary action is warranted. (3) Establish reasonable licensure fees, including, but
not limited to, initial application, renewal, and reinstatement fees. (4) Develop standardized
forms including, but not limited to, a midwife disclosure form, informed consent form, emergency
care form, and applications for licensure and renewal. (5) Impose administrative fines, not
to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) per violation, for violating this chapter, a board

Section 34-9-18 Grounds for disciplinary action. (a) The board may invoke disciplinary
action as outlined in subsection (b) whenever it shall be established to the satisfaction
of the board, after a hearing as hereinafter provided, that any dentist or dental hygienist

the proper operation of the retirement system and for making effective the provisions of this

Section 32-5A-195 Cancellation, suspension, or revocation of driver's license; grounds,
procedure, etc. (a) The Secretary of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency is authorized
to cancel any driver's license upon determining that the licensee was not entitled to the
issuance thereof or that the licensee failed to give the correct or required information in
his or her application. Upon such cancellation, the licensee must surrender the license so
cancelled. If the licensee refuses to surrender the license, he or she shall be guilty of

Section 32-5A-191 (Effective until July 1, 2023) Driving while under influence of alcohol,
controlled substances, etc. (a) A person shall not drive or be in actual physical control
of any vehicle while: (1) There is 0.08 percent or more by weight of alcohol in his or her
blood; (2) Under the influence of alcohol; (3) Under the influence of a controlled substance
to a degree which renders him or her incapable of safely driving; (4) Under the combined influence
of alcohol and a controlled substance to a degree which renders him or her incapable of safely
driving; or (5) Under the influence of any substance which impairs the mental or physical
faculties of such person to a degree which renders him or her incapable of safely driving.
