Section 20-2-117 Contracts for receipt of cannabis; Board of Medical Examiners to promulgate guidelines, rules and regulations. The State Board of Medical Examiners may apply to contract with the National Institute of Drug Abuse for receipt of cannabis pursuant to the regulations promulgated by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The board may formulate and promulgate such guidelines as are necessary for dispensing cannabis consistent with the public health and safety and under strictly controlled circumstances. The board further may establish the rules and regulations requiring accurate reporting and accountability by each practitioner to the board and any federal agency as required by law.
