Section 36-25-1 Definitions. Whenever used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the following meanings: (1) BUSINESS. Any corporation, partnership, proprietorship, firm, enterprise, franchise, association, organization, self-employed individual, or any other legal entity. (2) BUSINESS WITH WHICH THE PERSON IS ASSOCIATED. Any business of which the person or a member of his or her family is an officer, owner, partner, board of director member, employee, or holder of more than five percent of the fair market value of the business. (3) CANDIDATE. This term as used in this chapter shall have the same meaning ascribed to it in Section 17-5-2. (4) COMMISSION. The State Ethics Commission. (5) COMPLAINT. Written allegation or allegations that a violation of this chapter has occurred. (6) COMPLAINANT. Section 34-21-126 Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators. (a) The party states hereby create and establish a joint public entity known as the Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators. (1) The commission is an instrumentality of the party states. (a) In Jefferson County, in addition to all other taxes imposed by law, there is hereby levied an additional privilege or license tax, in the amount hereinafter prescribed against any person, organization, or other entity engaging or continuing in the county in the business of leasing or renting any passenger automotive vehicle, the duration of the lease being not more than one year. The amount of the taxes levied by this section shall be equal to three percent of the gross proceeds derived by the lessor from the lease or rental of such passenger automotive vehicle for not more than one year. (a) Each county and any municipality as described below shall submit to the department, within one and one-half years of May 16, 1989, a plan for the management of solid waste generated within its boundaries. A county's plan shall include the municipal jurisdictions within its boundaries except that any municipality may choose to submit its own solid waste management plan intended for implementation within its city limits and thereby be excluded from its county plan.
