Section 27-7-28 Nonresident agents or brokers - License generally. (a) Unless denied licensure pursuant to Section 27-7-19, a nonresident person shall receive a nonresident producer license if all of the following are satisfied: (1) The person has submitted or transmitted to the commissioner a copy of the application for licensure that the person submitted to his or her home state or, in lieu of the same, a completed Uniform Application. (2) The person has submitted the proper request for licensure and has paid the fees required under Section 27-4-2. (3) The person's home state awards nonresident producer licenses to residents of this state on the same basis. (4) The person is currently licensed as a resident producer and is in good standing in the state of his or her residence. (b) The commissioner may verify the producer's licensing status through the database maintained by the NAIC, its affiliates or subsidiaries.
