Section 40-17A-12 Jeopardy assessment; suit to enjoin assessment prohibited; exception; tax
and penalties assumed correct. (a) An assessment for a dealer not possessing stamps or other
official indicia showing that the tax has been paid shall be considered a jeopardy assessment

escaped taxation in any assessment within five years next preceding the current year, he shall
list, return, and value said property for assessment for the years during which same has escaped
taxation and shall also endorse on such returns the year or years for which the property has

(a) The judge of probate shall perform all duties relating to the assessment and collection
of ad valorem taxes and casual sales and use taxes on motor vehicles in the county, which
have heretofore been performed by the tax assessor and the tax collector. The tax assessor
and the tax collector of Autauga County are hereby relived of all duties and responsibilities
