Section 44-2-20 Text of compact. The Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children is hereby
enacted into law and entered into with all other jurisdictions legally joining therein in
form substantially as follows: Article I. Purpose and Policy. It is the purpose and policy
of the party states to cooperate with each other in the interstate placement of children to
the end that: (a) Each child requiring placement shall receive the maximum opportunity to
be placed in a suitable environment and with persons or institutions having appropriate qualifications
and facilities to provide a necessary and desirable degree and type of care. (b) The appropriate
authorities in a state where a child is to be placed may have full opportunity to ascertain
the circumstances of the proposed placement, thereby promoting full compliance with applicable
requirements for the protection of the child. (c) The proper authorities of the state from

Section 11-20-2 Legislative intent; construction of article generally. (a) It is the intent
of the Legislature by the passage of this article to authorize counties to acquire, own and
lease projects for the purpose of promoting industry and trade by inducing manufacturing,

Section 11-28-2 Authorization of issuance of warrants. In addition to all other warrants which
any county shall have the power to issue pursuant to laws other than this chapter, the county
shall have the power from time to time to sell and issue warrants of the county for the purpose
of paying costs of public facilities. In the proceedings pursuant to which warrants are authorized
to be issued the county commission of the county may, in its discretion, provide that the
warrants shall evidence general obligation debt of such county, in which case the full faith

In any county in which a special county tax is levied and collected, pursuant to the provisions

Section 22-27-3 Authority of local governing bodies as waste collections and disposal; household
exemptions; state regulatory program. (a) Generally. (1) The county commission or municipal
