Section 41-9-249 Powers and duties of commission generally. The commission shall have
the following duties and powers: (1) To promote and increase knowledge and understanding of
the history of this state from the earliest time to the present, including the archaeological,
Indian, Spanish, British, French, Colonial, Confederate and American eras, by adopting and
executing general plans, methods and policies for permanently preserving and marking objects,

Commission on 911 is established. The commission shall do the following: (1) Study the operational
and financial condition of the current 911 systems within the State of Alabama and publish

Section 2-6-70 Definitions. As used in this article, the following words shall have

Section 34-27-8.1 Real Estate Commission - Legislative findings; rulemaking authority.
(a) The Legislature finds and declares all of the following: (1) The power to make rules regulating
the licensing of real estate brokers and salespersons includes the power to prohibit unqualified
persons from being licensed as a real estate broker or salesperson. (2) A primary goal of
the provision of real estate regulation is to prioritize consumer protection in real estate
transactions. (3) The Alabama Real Estate Commission is in the best position to determine
the real estate practices that prioritize consumer protection in real estate transactions.
(4) Prioritizing consumer protection may sometimes be at odds with the goals of state and
federal antitrust laws, which include the prioritization of competition. (5) It is the intent

Section 40-13-6 Distribution of tax proceeds. (a) In each fiscal year when the funds
then on deposit in the special fund or funds created for retirement of the bonds equal the
