Section 41-29-501 Definitions. (a) For the purposes of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings: (1) AUTHORITY. The public corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of Sections 41-10-20 through 41-10-32. (2) AUTHORIZED PURPOSE. Any one or more of the purposes for which grants are herein authorized to be made as specified in Section 41-29-503(a). (3) BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The board of directors of the authority. (4) BOND. Section 16-24B-3 Principals - Probationary and contract principals. (a) Any other provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, persons employed as principals in the public schools in Alabama on or after July 1, 2000, may, at the election of the employing board and upon the recommendation of the chief executive officer, be employed as probationary principals for up to one full contract year; provided, however, that if such person is being employed as a principal for the first time, such probationary period may be for up to two full contract years.
