Section 45-5-242 Levy of gasoline tax; use of proceeds. (a) The following words, when used in this section shall have the meaning ascribed to them below, unless the context clearly indicates a different meaning: (1) "Gasoline" means any type of gasoline, naptha, or other liquid motor fuel, or any device or substitute therefor, commonly used in internal combustion engines. (2) "Diesel fuel" means any type diesel oil, tractor fuel, gas oil, distillate or liquefied gas, jet fuel, or any device or substitute therefor. (3) "Kerosene" means the product known commercially as "kerosene oil." (b) In addition to all other taxes and licenses, there is hereby levied upon every distributor, refiner, retail dealer, or storer of gasoline, kerosene, or diesel fuel in Blount County, Alabama, an excise tax of one cent ($.01) per gallon upon the selling, distributing, storing, or withdrawing from storage in Blount County for any use, gasoline, kerosene, or diesel fuel as defined by this section;...

Section 2-21-19 Licensing. (a) No person shall manufacture or sell a commercial feed in this state, unless he or she has filed with the commissioner on forms provided by the commissioner, his or her name, place of business, and location of each manufacturing facility from which feed may be shipped within or into this state. (b) The person shall apply for and obtain from the commissioner a license authorizing the sale and distribution of commercial feed. The application for a license shall be accompanied by the fee hereinafter required and shall be on forms furnished by the commissioner which shall contain such information as is necessary for the issuance of the license. All licensing shall expire on December 31 of each year and shall be renewed annually as of January 1 upon the filing of an application and payment of the required license fee. (a) Effective January 1, 2000, ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall be assessed and the tax collected forward on a current basis to coincide with the collection of motor vehicle license taxes and registration fees.
