Section 2-17-12 Inspection of cattle, sheep, swine, poultry, etc., slaughtered and prepared in slaughtering and processing establishments; assignment of inspectors and designation of days and hours when slaughtering and processing to be done. (a) The commissioner shall cause an examination and inspection of all cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules and other equines and poultry and the food products thereof slaughtered and prepared in the establishment described in Section 2-17-11 for the purposes of intrastate commerce, as directed or provided in this chapter, to be made during the nighttime as well as during the daytime when the slaughtering of said animals or birds or the preparation of food products therefrom is conducted during the nighttime. Section 2-17-1 Definitions. When used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) COMMISSIONER.
