Section 8-7A-23 Investigation and subpoenas by commission. (a) The commission may do any of the following: (1) Make such public or private investigations within or outside of this state as it deems necessary to determine whether: Any license under this chapter should be granted, denied, suspended, or revoked; any person has violated or is about to violate any provision of this chapter or any rule or order hereunder; or to aid in the enforcement of this chapter or in the prescribing of rules and forms hereunder. (2) Require or permit any person to file a statement in writing, under oath, or otherwise as the commission may determine, as to all the facts and circumstances concerning the matter to be investigated. (3) Publish information concerning any violation of this chapter or any rule or order hereunder. Section 34-1-14 Hearings; judicial review. (a) Commencement of proceeding. The board may initiate proceedings under this chapter either on its own motion or on the complaint of any person.
