Section 2-8-22 Penalty for failure to deduct and pay over assessment. Any dealer, handler, processor, sales market or other purchaser of cattle who willfully fails or refuses to deduct and pay to the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries any assessment required to be so deducted and remitted to the commissioner shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in an amount equal to three times the amount of the assessment he failed or refused to collect and remit as required under this article. The amount of any fine under this section shall be remitted to the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries and shall be forthwith transferred by the commissioner to the account of the certified association entitled thereto. Section 45-28-150.03 Bingo games - Permits. (a) No qualified organization shall be permitted to operate a bingo game unless the sheriff first issues a permit to the organization authorizing it to do so. The permit described in this article is in addition to, and not in lieu of, any other business licenses which may be required by law, and no bingo game shall be operated until such time as all required licenses have been obtained. A permit holder may hold only one permit and that permit is valid for only one location. A permit is not assignable or transferable. (a) Any bond provided in this article to be filed with the department by the operator shall be in the form as the director prescribes, payable to the State of Alabama and conditioned that the operator shall faithfully perform all applicable requirements of this article and comply with all applicable rules of the department made in accordance with the provisions of this article.
