Section 11-44D-1 Ordinance abandoning commission form of government and referendum adopting mayor-council or manager-council form. Within three months of the adoption and approval of this chapter, the governing body of any Class 6 municipality with a commission form of government may by a majority vote of the members of that governing body adopt an ordinance abandoning the commission form of government and calling for a referendum to be held at public expense within 60 days after such call for the purpose of determining whether such city shall adopt the mayor-council form of government, authorized by this chapter, or in the alternative the manager-council form of government authorized by this chapter.
