Section 22-18-50 Enactment and text of Emergency Medical Services Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact. The Emergency Medical Services Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact is hereby enacted into law and entered into with all other jurisdictions legally joining therein in form substantially as follows: SECTION 1. PURPOSE In order to protect the public through verification of competency and ensure accountability for patient care related activities all states license emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, such as emergency medical technicians (EMTs), advanced EMTs and paramedics. This Compact is intended to facilitate the day to day movement of EMS personnel across state boundaries in the performance of their EMS duties as assigned by an appropriate authority and authorize state EMS offices to afford immediate legal recognition to EMS personnel licensed in a member state. Section 17-8-1 Appointment of election officials; duties. (a) The appointing board, or a majority of them acting as an appointing board, not more than 20 nor less than 15 days before the holding of any election in their county, shall appoint from the qualified electors of the respective precinct, necessary precinct election officials, which shall include at least one inspector, to act at each voting place in each precinct. Whenever any county or municipal corporation through its governing body shall vote to take advantage of the authority granted in this article, as a condition to the exercise of such authority it shall call an election, at which election the question of whether or not such county or municipality will enter upon the undertaking proposed by the governing body of the county or municipal corporation will be voted upon.
