Section 41-16-51 Contracts for which competitive bidding not required. (a) Competitive bids
for entities subject to this article shall not be required for utility services, the rates
for which are fixed by law, regulation, or ordinance, and the competitive bidding requirements

Section 45-37-111 Compensation of election officials; expense allowance. (a)(1) This section
shall apply only in Jefferson County. (2)a. In all general, municipal, special, and primary
elections, the compensation of certain election officers and workers shall be as follows:
The chief inspector shall be paid one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125) per day, the assistant
chief inspector shall be paid eighty-five dollars ($85) per day, and each clerk and each worker

3 for the circuit court shall be filled at the general election held in the year 1998, provided
the judgeship has been precleared under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, 42 U.S.C.,
