Section 8-19-4 Enforcement (a) The office of the Attorney General and the district attorneys shall have the following functions, powers, and duties: (1) Conduct preliminary investigations to determine the merit of complaints, provided, however, the office of the Attorney General or the district attorneys need not handle any complaint which lacks merit, has been made in bad faith, or may be readily resolved between the parties. (2) Receive information and documentary material from complainants and take whatever action is appropriate in connection therewith as authorized by this chapter. The office of the Attorney General and the district attorneys may otherwise receive and investigate complaints with respect to acts or practices declared to be unlawful by this chapter, and inform the complainants with respect thereto. Section 34-13-56 Grounds for revocation, suspension, or refusal to issue or renew licenses, etc.; hearing; fines. (a) The board may refuse to license any person or establishment for violation of this chapter. If the board refuses to issue, grant, or renew a license based on a violation of this chapter, including, but not limited to, violations listed in subsection (c), the licensee or prospective licensee may request a public hearing before the board to appeal the action of the board. Section 34-21-25 Denial, suspension, or revocation of license; administrative fines; voluntary disciplinary alternative program. If an original director who is required to reside in a particular county is to be selected by means of an election, the board of supervisors who determined that an election would be the method of selection shall call the election.
