Section 40-10-5 Notice to taxpayer - When assessment is "owner unknown." When any
assessment is made to an "owner unknown," notice must be given by publication once
a week for three successive weeks in a newspaper published in the county, or if no newspaper
is published therein, by posting the same at the courthouse of the county for three weeks,
substantially in the following form: "The State of Alabama. (Here give name of county)
County. To whom it may concern: Take notice that the tax collector has filed in my office
a list of delinquent taxpayers and of real estate upon which taxes are due, and therein is

Section 41-6-74 Notice. (a) When the department is required to give notice of the abandonment
of property or of termination of a loan, the department shall mail notice by certified mail,
return receipt requested, to the last known owner at the most recent address of the owner
as shown on the department's records. If the department does not know the identity of the

Section 9-9-2 Definitions. Whenever used in this article, the following words and phrases shall
have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
(1) NOTICE BY PUBLICATION. Unless otherwise specified, such notice shall consist of publication

as practicable the judge of probate shall issue a notice addressed to each person against

Section 9-10A-14 Powers of board. The board of directors of a watershed management authority
shall have power to: (1) Acquire, by purchase, gift, grant, bequest or devise, or through
condemnation proceedings held in the manner provided by Chapter 1A of Title 18, such lands
