(a) On or after May 18, 2020, a person qualifying for election as Sheriff of Escambia County or any person appointed to serve as a sheriff shall meet all of the following minimum qualifications, in addition to any other qualifications required by law: (1) The person is a citizen of the United States. (a) A person required to deliver the required documents or report pursuant to Section 35-8A-402(c) or 35-8A-407 shall provide a purchaser of a unit with a copy of the offering statement and all amendments thereto not later than the date of any contract of sale. (a) No qualified organization shall be permitted to operate a bingo game unless the sheriff first issues a permit to the organization authorizing it to do so. The permit described in this part is in addition to, and not in lieu of, any other business licenses which may be required by law, and no bingo game shall be operated until such time as all required licenses have been obtained. A copy of each license shall be required and attached to the application. A permit holder may hold only one permit and that permit is valid for only one location.
