Section 34-24-361 Investigations; reporting offenses; proceedings and actions; privileged information.
(a)(1) The State Board of Medical Examiners on its own motion may investigate any evidence
which appears to show that a physician or osteopath holding a certificate of qualification
to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of Alabama is or may be guilty of any of the
acts, offenses, or conditions set out in Section 34-24-360. As part of its investigation,
the board may require a criminal history background check of the physician or osteopath. In
such event, the physician or osteopath shall submit a complete set of fingerprints to the
State Board of Medical Examiners. The board shall submit the fingerprints provided by the
physician or osteopath to the Alabama Bureau of Investigation (ABI). The fingerprints shall
be forwarded by the ABI to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for a national criminal

Section 44-2-10 Text of compact. The Interstate Compact for Juveniles is enacted into law and
entered into with all jurisdictions mutually adopting the compact in the form substantially

Section 40-9B-3 Definitions. (a) For purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases
mean: (1) ABATE, ABATEMENT. A reduction or elimination of a taxpayer's liability for tax or

Section 17-13-76 Witnesses - Oaths; summoning witnesses; expenses. The chair of any committee
or subcommittee before which may be pending any contest as herein provided may administer
oaths to witnesses in such contests and summon persons and officers to be and appear before
such committee or subcommittee. The person who desires the summoning of any witnesses, at
the time he or she makes request of the chair of such committee to summon any witness, shall
deposit with the chair of such committee, in cash, sufficient money to pay the cost of summoning

Section 17-14-55 Duty of state Comptroller to ascertain expenses and file same. It shall be
the duty of the Comptroller to ascertain the expense of an election under Section 17-14-54
and, within 30 days after the holding of the same, to present to and file with the clerk of
such municipality a statement of the expense, duly certified by such officer, and the governing
